Mission

Mission is not about completing a task but fulfilling a call. If it is just completing a task, mission becomes but a series of “check lists”, going from one task to another like a machine. If it is a way of fulfilling a call, mission becomes more meaningful. The series of ‘check lists” becomes beads of prayer and the tasks ahead becomes guideposts to holiness. The journey becomes joyful and peaceful and life becomes meaningful.

Our positive response to the call of the mission is a response to our hearts unsaid longings. In mission we find our purpose and vocation.

There Is No Need

There is no need to stress on something that is beyond our control. It is even unnecessary, fruitless and no brainer thing. The important thing is when events are plan, we know the in and out of it, at the very least the over all goal of it, then when details comes, it is easy to anticipate things that may happen or not happen. If things are done already, then there’s no need to be busy. People sometimes tend to overwork in order to look productive, but actually it’s of no help. Example, you finished already your minutes and then what you do is look at it for hours and think of other things when in fact those other things can never be resolve by yourself until the next meeting. Use instead the spare time to rest and re energize, because your strength is needed.

Every Moment

I was browsing through my journal and found something I wrote some years ago about talking to a stranger in the plane. I was reflecting on how being stuck for hours in the plane can actually be fruitful if we put down our earphones and talk to someone sitting beside us.

I wrote, “Talking to a stranger and being able to share your faith is productive enough. Every opportunity to talk about Jesus should be grab. Every moment is Gods moment and every Gods moment is a beautiful moment. If we think we are stuck in life, maybe that’s an opportunity to find something productive or fruitful. Certain situations actually open doors if we only open our eyes.”
