What Would Jesus Do?

“Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?” James 4:11-12

The Lord wants us to leave judgment to Himself because aside from the fact that we are not God, He actually want to spare us from undesirable outcome. You see, our understanding of things is limited and so we react easily to certain things and tends to assume and judge the other with the information we have. This is where the problem starts, because we don’t have all the necessary information and even if we do, who knows real motives? Who can rightly judge motives?

It’s so easy to speak against a brother or a sister and gossip or slander the other because we assume we know. So before doing so, look at other with the eyes of Christ. What would Jesus do?
